Basketry meets Textile Art in this cross-pollination workshop with fibre artist and popular tutor Martien van Zuilen. We will delve into the art of creating colourful coiled baskets, small wall hangings, jewellery, and freeform sculptures. Materials will abound - including raffia, recycled fabrics, paper cord, handmade felt, and a variety of novelty fibres, waxed linen and other threads.
A range of coiling techniques will be shown, including how to incorporate embellishments and adorn your hand-crafted treasures (think shells, buttons, feathers...). The world will be our coiling oyster!
