Albany Summer School News

Albany Summer School 2025

Planning is well underway for the 65th annual Albany Summer School. The dates have been set, the two weeks will begin on Monday 6th January and finish on Friday 17th January.

The committee has engaged Ang Simpson as the new Coordinator,  who will use her extraordinary administration and planning skills to make 2025 one to remember.

With some new exciting courses, many of which have been suggested by our fantastic participants when they filled in the feedback surveys as their 2024 course ended.

We will have a mix of first time tutors and some firm favourites considering returning again with new ideas being presented.

To stay in touch with how the year develops, you can drop into our facebook or instagram pages. The new proposed course list should be uploaded here mid year and the finalised list uploaded in August before tickets go on sale the last week in September.

We hope to see you in January 2025.

2023 AGM

The Albany Summer School AGM was held on June 15, the only executive change was for the position of President. So we thank Annie Sanders for her fabulous leadership through the challenge that was Covid and change of school venue and we welcome Carol Thomas. We also say goodbye to committee members Margaret Burdass, Annie Mayo and Merryl Hearn and welcome new members Sandy Bishop, Angela Simpson and Bella Sivyer.

This year we moved out to Great Southern Grammar and that will again be the venue in 2024. We had a few surprises budget wise in 2023, but even as a not for profit volunteer organisation that operates only on funds generated from course fees we will do all we can to try to limit any increases.
