Collagraph – Printing from Collage
With Helen Fitzhardinge

Explore the dynamic world of collagraph printmaking in this hands-on workshop, designed for artists of all experience levels. Collagraph is a low-toxic, experimental art form that merges collage and printmaking, offering a versatile approach to creating richly textured and colourful prints.

Guided by expert instruction from Helen Fitzhardinge, participants will design and build their own printmaking plates using a range of materials, such as string, tape, sand, fabric, modelling paste, and gesso, attached to a sturdy board. These plates will then be inked and printed either by hand or with an etching press, allowing for diverse creative possibilities.

Throughout the course, students will delve into a variety of printmaking techniques, including embossing, relief, intaglio, and viscosity printing, gaining insight into how textures and layers interact on paper. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced printmaker looking to experiment with a new process, this workshop offers a fresh and exciting way to develop your artistic practice.
