Nicky Shelton is an internationally accredited Birdlife Artist devoted to protecting and painting birds in oils. Through her art she endeavours to capture the majesty and personality of each of her chosen subjects. Nicky believes painting should be an enjoyable and rewarding experience and you are invited to join Nicky in a fun workshop where she will share her oil painting techniques by showing you how to master the art of colour mixing. During the course of the week you will use primary colours to create your own reference colour wheel . Nicky will share skills that can be easily translated into any paintable subject.

Nicky Shelton
Nicky Shelton is a Western Australian Artist. She embraced the journey of fine art after retiring from a corporate career in 2012. Australian birdlife ignites her passion to paint in oils, capturing the unique charisma and personality of each of the feathered subjects she gets to know. Nicky’s artworks have been jury selected as Best in Show and finalist in international and Australian art awards including Asia Pacific Clifton’s Art Prize, Holmes Art Prize for excellence in realistic Australian Birdlife and the Midwest Art Prize. The paintings Nicky creates are commissioned and collected by wildlife enthusiasts worldwide. Her artworks are represented by Jahroc Galleries, Margaret River and internationally via and her own website Nicky is a member of the Wildlife Art Society of Australasia and an advocate for Birdlife Australia. A percentage of every original bird artwork sold is automatically donated to Birdlife Australia to assist with the rehabilitation and conservation of endangered Australian birds. From 2017 to 2018 Nicky was Resident Birdlife Artist at Whiteman Park, one of Western Australia’s leading wildlife destinations. During this time she also held her first solo exhibition in Fremantle, raising funds and awareness for Birdlife Australia. Since July 2018 Nicky has been painting and promoting her Australian bird art in Europe, returning home to Western Australia in September 2019. Nicky now resides in Margaret River where she paints and promotes her artworks worldwide.
