Think you can’t draw a stick — let alone a banksia? You absolutely can. In this course, you’ll be guided step by step from your very first marks on paper to a finished artwork celebrating the unique beauty of Western Australia’s native plants.
Across the week, we’ll explore the colours, textures and forms of local flora — from delicate blossoms to rugged bark and striking foliage. You’ll learn how to observe nature closely, translate what you see into precise drawing, and build confident layers of paint to bring your subject to life. It’s far less daunting than it seems, and you may find yourself looking at the bush and forests around you with fresh eyes.
Every student receives individual attention as needed, with ongoing demonstrations to support your progress. Expect a friendly, relaxed atmosphere with plenty of encouragement, shared discoveries and creative momentum as your painting develops.
