This course celebrates the beauty of our Australian bird life through clever brushwork on a wooden panel and bold acrylic colours. Guided by West Australian acrylic artist, Hayley Krüger, you'll experiment with bold colour to create your very own gorgeous, feathered friends. This class will introduce you to working with medium and acrylic, bringing your artworks to life.
Whether you're a beginner ready to experiment or an experienced painter seeking new approaches, this course offers a playful and confidence-building experience with gentle encouragement and guidance.
Hayley Krüger is an award-winning acrylic artist based in the Swan Valley, Western Australia, where she creates luminous botanical and still life paintings from her home studio. With a background in graphic design, Hayley is drawn to the sculptural forms, colour, and quiet resilience of native Australian flora. Banksias, gum blossoms, seasonal fruit, and treasured natural finds become subjects for intimate paintings that celebrate beauty, light, and connection to the natural world.
Working primarily in acrylic, Hayley is known for her richly layered paintings, where vibrant colour meets softness, atmosphere, and careful observation. Her work is held in private and corporate collections throughout Australia and internationally, and has received national recognition. Alongside her studio practice, Hayley is an experienced and generous teacher who has guided students through workshops, retreats, and extended art programs across Western Australia, including Albany Summer School.
Known for her calm, encouraging approach, she creates a welcoming space where students feel supported to slow down, observe deeply, strengthen their skills, and create work they feel proud of. Her teaching gently balances technical guidance with creative confidence, helping students discover greater ease and joy in the painting process.
