421: Quilting – Foundation Piecing Made Easy

Learn how to foundation piece the easy way with Phil Thomas, without having to tear away those pesky papers. Using freezer paper as a base you will soon be able to accurately piece sharp points and corners. There will be a number of block patterns available that you can use to practice the technique or put towards making a unique quilt top.

There will be a small materials fee to cover the patterns and freezer paper. Class is recommended for those who have some basic machine patchwork skills.

Phil Thomas

Phil Thomas is an award-winning quilter who has taught beginner patchwork classes for over 30 years.

She is an accredited teacher and judge with the West Australian Quilters’ Association. Her first love is for hand pieced and hand quilted traditional quilts, but for the last ten years she has moved towards a more contemporary style using machine applique and quilting.

She enjoys using technology and her own photographs to design pictorial and portrait quilts. Some quilting experience recommended.
