209: Felt Landscapes and Panoramas

Wet felting meets needle-felting and stitch in this exciting new class with fibre artist and popular tutor Martien van Zuilen. Inspired by photographic images (nature, landscape, architecture, etc), we will delve into the art of creating a 2D artwork good enough to frame, using wool and other fibres as our main ingredient.

We start with creating a wet-felted background, then intricate details are added using needle-felting and stitch, building our design, and expanding our fibre palette.

Several techniques will be shown, including small 3D embellishments to add that finishing touch.
