104: Persian Cooking

Enjoy the learning experience of Persian and Middle Eastern cooking.

During this course, you will experience and taste the unforgettable exotic food and variety of salads and sweets. Meanwhile, through your senses Mahshid Ferdowsian will take you away to the land of fragrant red roses and the nightingales and learn about the richness of the music and culture of Persia.

You will learn a new dish every day and have a chance to taste it as well.

Mahshid Ferdowsian

Mahshid Ferdowsian was born in Persia (Iran) and left home in 1972 to live in Africa. After living for 14 years in Zambia, she and her family chose Western Australia as their new home. They have lived in Albany since January 1988.

Mahshid has been actively involved in introducing her rich Persian culture to the community. She has demonstrated cooking at schools and community centres and by invitation at different events, her Persian treats have been very popular. She has also taught Persian cooking at Albany Summer School for several years.

Mahshid also is an educator and has won the Childrens’ Week award. She enjoys working with children and has many interests and hobbies including sewing, hand crafts, gardening and enjoying interaction with people.
